Biography:
Vault Boy is the mascot character of the Fallout game series. He is a cartoon figure representing Vault-Tec, the company responsible for building the underground fallout shelters (Vaults) in the game's post-apocalyptic world.
He first appeared in Fallout (1997) and has appeared in every subsequent game in the series. His image is ubiquitous throughout the Fallout universe, appearing on instructional posters, perk icons, loading screens, and in-game advertisements.
Vault Boy's cheerful and often humorous poses, despite the grim circumstances depicted, provide a stark contrast to the game's dark themes. His design is reminiscent of mid-century advertising mascots, which contributes to the game's retro-futuristic aesthetic.
He serves as a visual representation of the player's character stats, abilities, and perks and he is used throughout the games as a general representation of the player character
